A District Defined: Streets, Sex, and Survival
A District Defined: Streets, Sex, and Survival will live within 401, a unique new concept space located at 401 W 14th Street and will examine Meatpacking’s queer nightlife throughout the 80s and 90s and feature dozens of never-before-seen works from eight artists who documented various aspects of the District at the time. The curated group of photographers will include Lynsey Addario, Lola Flash, Jill Freedman, Efrain Gonzalez, T.L. Litt, Catherine McGann, Katsu Naito, and Joseph Rodríguez. 401 will also offer a variety of experiences during its three-week run. Visitors can enjoy a daily coffee bar from 8am-4pm powered by local coffee shop Terremoto. In the evenings, there will be happy hour programming.
