'Modeern Freedom' — An Exhibit by Pilecki Institute USA
A new exhibition opening in Lower Manhattan is bringing a fresh perspective to New York’s art scene. Opening May 19 and on view until August 31 at the newly opened Pilecki Institute USA, “MODEERN FREEDOM” examines how war, political pressure and social transformation continue to influence identity, culture and artistic expression throughout Central and Eastern Europe. Curated by Piotr Franaszek, Tomáš Koudela, and Wojtek Radtke, the exhibition features internationally recognized artists from across Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Ukraine, Germany, Georgia, Moldova, Lithuania, Bulgaria, Slovenia, and more, including Jiří Surůvka, Aleksander Tinei, Marek Schovánek, Paweł Althamer, Katarzyna Kozyra, Joanna Rajkowska, and many others.
