Poster House Presents Free First Friday on November 7 at Poster House

Poster House, the first museum in the United States dedicated to the global history of posters, will host its monthly “First Friday” event November 7, 2025 from 10:00 AM to 9:00 PM at Poster House, 119 West 23rd Street in Manhattan. On the first Friday of every month, Poster House offers free admission and extended hours for guests. Explore the museum’s latest exhibitions and get in on the fun by attending a tour, workshop, performance, or activity throughout the day. The two main exhibitions currently on show are: The Future Was Then: The Changing Face of Fascist Italy and Blazing A Trail: Dorothy Waugh’s National Parks Posters – open through February 22, 2026.

Every First Friday is different, offering unique opportunities such as tours, workshops, performances, and activities, to further engage visitors with the exhibitions. First Friday activities for November 7th  include:

12–2PM: Amarcord Movie Screening
Join Poster House for Federico Fellini’s Amarcord  (1973), screened in connection with the museum’s exhibition The Future Was Then: The Changing Face of Fascist Italy. A semi-autobiographical comedy-drama, Amarcord tells the story of a boy navigating life among the lively family and friends of his village in the Fascist Italy of the 1930s. While the film blends humor with surreal sequences, Fellini also highlights the social and political pressures of the time.
This program is presented by Poster House’s CMYK Council, the museum’s BIPOC advisory board that works to ensure the museum is accessible to communities of color.

1–7PM: Print the Parks – Screenprinting with Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop
Join Robert Blackburn Printmaking Workshop at Poster House for a hands-on screenprinting workshop inspired by Dorothy Waugh’s Lure of the National Parks poster, currently on view in the museum’s exhibition Blazing a Trail: Dorothy Waugh’s National Parks Posters. Participants will learn the basics of screenprinting and take home their own two-color print celebrating the beauty of America’s natural landscapes.
