ARTHUR LEVINE//TILTING AT THE SURFACE February 24 – March 21 Opening Reception; Saturday February 28 3 – 6 pm “In Arthur Levine’s paintings the works themselves are a stage in which the 98 year old artist continues his lifetime engagement with painting, depicting and embodying the drama of the individual artist engaged in a near century long love affair with painting. The figures are performers or protagonists in an eternal drama presented as divertissement where it seems that they represent all of us, young and old, caught up in a search amid a world of painterly turmoil.
