Configurations & The Tropic Moon By Domingo Carrasco
Configurations & The Tropic Moon is a recent series of works by Queens native Domingo Carrasco. The works on display explore shape, color contrast, and form. Utilizing a mostly monochromatic scale, Carrasco highlights the dynamic relationship between organic and geometric shapes. Carefully arranged architectural elements interact with symbols and icons to create a minimalist visual language. Acting as windows, the frames and arcs within these compositions invite viewers to construct their own narratives about place and time. Configurations & The Tropic Moon celebrates a timeless aesthetic, where elements of the past are reimagined in playful and unexpected ways. Additionally, works featuring aspects of the human form complement the visual dialogue of the exhibition’s overarching theme. Domingo was born and raised in New York City, where he completed his advanced education and built a career in education and the arts. Working from his home studio, he continues to create, with his works held in private collections both nationally and abroad.
