Her Frequency is an arts organization founded by Sophie Fay, born out of her own journey as an independent artist in New York. For seven years, she has navigated the local music scene, constantly feeling the absence of platforms that truly support and value female artists like herself. Too often, she found herself in spaces where she was the lone woman performer, facing disrespect and unequal treatment compared to her male colleagues. Female voices are just as powerful as anyone else’s, their voices need to be heard, and equally appreciated.

That was the drive behind creating Her Frequency since the mission is so close to Sophie’s heart: to elevate female-identifying artists in R&B, Hip Hop, and Alternative genres, providing them with the performance opportunities and creative support they deserve. Unlike many venues and curators solely focused on profits, Her Frequency is rooted in genuine care for art and community building where networking and collaboration are strongly encouraged. Through Her Frequency, Sophie hopes to empower women in the music industry, ensuring that their voices are not only heard but also celebrated.
