ATW Play Reading: The Helpers by Jane Willis at The Actors Theatre Workshop
How far would you go to help another?

When two "ordinary" New Yorkers, Laura and Beth, volunteer to help newly arrived immigrant families to claim asylum - as guided by Gloria, the mutual aid paralegal - they are quickly drawn into the harrowing plights of the families, who scramble to keep body and soul together in the shadow of ICE raids.

But as they work to outsmart a broken system, are they clinging too tightly to magical thinking as they reckon with the question: how far are they willing to go to protect another?

House Opens: 6:30 PM

Show Starts: 7:00 PM

Artist / Audience Talkback: ~9:00 PM
