BalletCollective returns this June with an extended run of "Translation," its acclaimed contemporary ballet installation, at The Culture Club at 530 West 27th Street — New York City's most storied venue for immersive theatre.
Created by choreographer Troy Schumacher with composer Julianna Barwick and installation artist Sergio Mora-Diaz, in collaboration with Hugo, Nebula, and World Fantasy Award–winning author Ken Liu, "Translation" unfolds as a meditative environment of light, sound, and movement. Six dancers move in silhouette through shifting planes of projected light as music floods the room and the world outside falls away.
Called "breathtaking" by The Huffington Post and "magical" by Dance Tabs, "Translation" has not been seen in NYC since its 2017 premiere. This June marks BalletCollective's longest engagement yet, with more performances than ever before.
June 4–28, 2026. Tickets from $45. translationballet.com
