Poetry Brothel: Sappho's Island
| Learn More |
The Poetry Brothel is a 17 year running NYC cabaret that blends poetry, activism, and cabaret into one night of creativity and connection! We partner with GLITS to directly support sex workers and donate a portion of all earnings to them. We are also a part of The Poetry Society of New York, who run the largest free poetry festival in the country. Our Sappho's Island event will transport you to the island of Lesbos, with poets, dancers, musicians, and mystics will welcome you into a land of luxury where you can kick back, relax, and let the evening’s magic wash over you like a wave. After the show, stay for the after-party! Expect a DJ, dancing, and even hotter experiences from The Poetry Brothel. Our Pride show is an all queer cast of poets and performers, hosted by the amazing Artina Darkly, and featuring a diverse cast from all over the city. Expect verses that are erotic, romantic, philosophical, or even a little provocative. And when the moment strikes, you choose which poet to invite into the privacy of the boudoir for an intimate, one-on-one poetry reading. Use the code PRIDEANDPOETRY for a discount!
