The past is being weaponized. The present is barely holding together. The future is very much in dispute.
FRIGID Nightcap returns to Under St. Marks with **FUTURE TENSE**, a late-night variety show about the culture war over what comes next. Through comedy, drag, burlesque, theater, performance art, OpenStage, and original work from The Strange Girlzz, **FUTURE TENSE** rejects authoritarian nostalgia, billionaire futures, empire worship, capitalist doom loops, and the myth that history only moves in one direction.
This month’s lineup features Nicolas Lore’s *Luxury Gay Space Communism*, Ethereal Sacrilege’s *Reasonable Reality (Nonsense)*, Annie Smokely’s *E.atin’ B.ig T.ime*, a new devised performance from The Strange Girlzz, and Nightcap OpenStage. Come for queer futurity, anti-capitalist chaos, strange art, basement glamour, and the kind of true variety show you can only find downtown.
