Today Spiritune is announcing the debut of the “Frequencies of Peace” lullaby project in the United States, bringing a unique concept to NYC for listeners in Washington Square Park to hear for one day. This new lullaby, developed by a team of neuroscientists and music therapists at Spiritune, a therapeutic music application, was created several months ago in Syria with the aim of helping children in war and disaster zones fall asleep to a more soothing sound. This latest initiative was titled ‘Frequencies of Peace’ and developed in an effort to replace sounds of war with a lullaby of peace. The goal is to bring awareness to the Syrian refugee crisis, and also provide a reminder that music’s healing powers are for everyone. The unique lullaby, performed by Syrian singer/songwriter Ghaliaa Chaker, has been taking over Syrian airwaves every night at 8pm local time to replace the sounds of war with a lullaby of peace – and remind adults that children are listening too. Commencing with a morning performance in Washington Square Park in New York City at 9am Thursday, May 18 2023, the lullaby will be played live by pianist Kristopher Hull, an activist pianist known for his piano performances in public spaces in an effort to bring music to everyone and support humanitarian and artistic causes. This performance will also mark the beginning of the lullaby being available for streaming in the United States and globally through the Spiritune application after several months of exclusive availability on Syrian airwaves and Syrian streaming services.
