The collections of the Hispanic Society of America today are unparalleled in their scope and quality, addressing nearly every aspect of culture in Spain as well as Portugal, Latin America, and the Philippines. Founded in 1904 by Archer Milton Huntington, a collector of Hispanic art and artifacts, The Society operates a library and museum. In the museum, the society exhibits an extensive collection of fine and decorative arts, ranging from sculpture and pottery during Roman times to paintings by Goya, Velazquez and El Greco.
