It's the holiday season in the New York City of 1993. Those who live in the co-ops on Riverside Drive cozily deck their halls. But outside, on the cold streets of the city, many struggle just to stay alive. The so-called homeless build a community of support and warmth, while relying on the small acts of caring doled out by their neighbors living in the nearby apartments.
