After a recent appearance in the Golden Globe-winning comedy hit The Hangover, The Dan Band is bringing the humor and music to the stage at B.B. King Blues Club in New York on Friday, March 26th with two performances at 8pm & 11pm. After performing a hilarious rendition of Pink's extraordinary 2010 Grammy performance at Club Nokia on February 19th, The Dan Band is sure to bring the same shock and laughter to the stage at B.B. King Blues Club. Pink even tweeted about the hilarious performance and invited fans everywhere to view the recreation at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=d00SiLKne6Q. So far 86,000 people have checked it out!
With their notable performance of “Total Eclipse of the Heart” in the 2003 hit Old School, The Dan Band quickly became one of the most entertaining groups in music. Created by Los Angeles actor/comedian Dan Finnerty, The Dan Band is best known for its covers of originally female-performed pop songs, and have performed the tunes in box office hits The Hangover, Old School, Starsky & Hutch, and The Terminal. In 2005, the band released “The Dan Band Live,” their live full-length debut album followed by “Ho - A Dan Band Christmas." The live show has become a staple of Los Angeles nightlife, with Entertainment Weekly naming it "the hottest ticket in town." This cult phenomenon has garnered rave reviews from The New York Times, The L.A. Times, Variety, and Rolling Stone to name a few. The band members include David Arana (keyboards, vocals), Marc Strommer (guitar, vocals), Einar Pedersen (bass guitar, vocals), Dave Johnstone (drums, percussion); Finnerty is the band's lead singer.
The Dan Band plays to sold-out crowds from Los Angeles to New York and has appeared on numerous shows including Jimmy Kimmel Live, Last Call with Carson Daly, Ellen, The Late Late Show, Spike TV's Guys Choice Awards and eventually caught the attention of Steven Spielberg, who signed on to executive produce Dan's one-hour concert special “The Dan Band: I Am Woman,” directed by McG.
