Be a Star! 'Madame Tussauds New York Presents Broadway' Now OpenJune 10, 2019 - by Merrill Lee Girardeau
Some of us never stop dreaming about being a Broadway star. Now, your dreams can come true at Madame Tussauds New York. Step behind the scenes of a Broadway show, and strut your stuff onstage, at this interactive experience now open at Madame Tussauds in Times Square, steps away from the Great White Way.
With Madame Tussauds New York Presents Broadway, you'll take a magical journey starting with a cocktail at the Broadway Bar, and traveling through a kaleidoscope of your favorite musicals. Co-produced by Andrew Lloyd Webber’s Really Useful Group, the experience will celebrate Webber’s hit musical productions, which have been adapted on the Broadway stage as well as feature films.
Enter the world of Phantom of the Opera, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Evita, Sunset Boulevard, and Cats. You can sing “Memory” with Grizabella the “Glamour Cat” and wear the Dreamcoat yourself as you become a Broadway star. The Phantom of the Opera will also guide you through the dazzling backstage experience, and perhaps do a little singing himself along the way. Live actors will be on hand to enhance the rush both on- and offstage.
“Seeing a show on Broadway is a bucket list requirement for many people when visiting New York City,” Tom Middleton, General Manager at Madame Tussauds New York, said in a press release. “Now, your Broadway experience doesn’t have to stop when you leave the theater. You can literally be a part of the glamour and see firsthand what it takes to make a Broadway show happen every night.”
Dust off your tap shoes, practice your favorite monologue, and warm up those pipes to experience Broadway, only at Madame Tussauds and only in Broadway’s home: the heart of New York City. The Broadway experience opened June 4, just ahead of the 2019 Tony Awards.
While you’re around, be sure to tour Madame Tussauds to see your favorite celebrities up-close. Take a selfie with Kylie Jenner, have tea with Queen Elizabeth II and Prince Harry, and sit in Donald Trump’s oval office. There’s always someone new to see, plus other interactive experiences to explore like the Marvel 4-D Experience and Mission: Undead. Convenient to other fun in the Times Square area, Madame Tussauds provides New York entertainment for the whole family.
