Classical Romantics: Greenwich Village Orchestra
Due to the coronavirus, please call to ensure this event is still happening before you leave home.
The Greenwich Village Orchestra explores portrayals of romanticism in music from the early baroque through the 20th century. Associate Conductor Eric Mahl leads the overture to Mozart's last opera, The Magic Flute and the suite from Igor Stravinsky's delightful neoclassical ballet Pulcinella, based on music by Pergolesi. Music Director Barbara Yahr takes the podium for Jean Sibelius' majestic Symphony No. 5 to round out the program. Free reception with the musicians follows.
