Rediscovered John Constable Painting on Public Display in New York
A painting that hung for more than 50 years inside a small Texas museum, long believed to be a copy, is now on public display in New York after being authenticated as an original work by renowned English landscape painter John Constable. The rediscovered study for The Cornfield (1826), one of Constable's most celebrated works, will be exhibited at Heritage Auctions' New York gallery ahead of its June 5 auction.
