Womankind Virtual Gala: Communities Rising
The incredible shifts within the world in 2021 have reaffirmed our mission to create a future where we Rise Above Violence and our communities can innovate towards collective well-being, restoration, and social justice.
Join us on October 26th to recognize the tireless work of our Communities Rising.
The goal of Womankind’s Anniversary Gala is to raise funds through awareness. While our primary services focus on working directly with survivors of gender-based violence in underserved communities (80%+ of Womankind’s budget directly supports programs and services for survivors), we partner and collaborate with our communities in both public and private institutions to demythify long-standing, detrimental social constructs that work against women and people of color so that we can rise above violence and equally thrive.
Our daily work alongside survivors of gender-based violence is made possible by the support of others who rise with us. For our 2021 Anniversary Gala, it is with distinction, respect and admiration that we celebrate and honor two such individuals with our Phoenix award.
This year, we will honor Nina Garcia, Editor-in-Chief, ELLE and Judge, Project Runway, and Sandra Leung, Executive Vice President, General Counsel, Bristol Myers Squibb.
Venue: Online (Remote/Virtual Event)
