"Hope Comes Home" Chamber Choir Concert
Come to The Bowery Mission’s historic chapel for an hour-long performance of a capella choral pieces carefully curated to highlight the personal testimony of Mr. James Macklin, The Bowery Mission’s Director of Outreach. The featured ensemble is Inspire: A Choir for Unity — a New York City-based chamber choir dedicated to cultivating compassion and action for diverse social issues through the power of song. This concert will honor of Inspire’s friends at the Bowery Mission (https://www.bowery.org/), who work tirelessly to restore hope for people experiencing homelessness and hunger.
The performance will take place on Saturday, June 1, at 8 p.m. at 227 Bowery, and be followed by an opportunity for all in attendance to share thoughts, feelings, and experiences casually over refreshments.
Pieces performed will include “Steal Away,” “The 23rd Psalm,” “The Road Home,” “Abide with Me,” “Even When He is Silent,” “Didn’t My Lord Deliver Daniel,” “I Will Lift Mine Eyes,” and more.

Hope Comes Home is the final installment of Inspire’s 2018-2019 season. Inspire is made up of a variety of professional and amateur singers, composers and conductors from the U.S. and Canada. Together, with their varied musical backgrounds and interests, Inspire artists merge their passion for music and social justice.
The ticket price for this event is free, so as to increase accessibility – an integral part of Inspire’s mission. For those able to make donations (suggested to be $10 - $60), these will be accepted online and at the event. Proceeds support The Bowery Mission.
