The Derelicts wear their influences on their sleeve, like a badge of honour, paying homage to their musical hereos on a daily basis, as well as writing and recording their own brand of Cosmic American songs/albums, (Derelicts I 2001, The Product 2005, Songs From The Homestead 2007, Whiskey & Blood 2016), their biggest influences being : Gram Parsons, Townes Van Zandt, Willie Dixon, Son House, Hank Williams, Savoy Brown, Rolling Stones, Grateful Dead, The Byrds, Pink Floyd, and the many artists of Stax and Motown. Cosmic American Derelicts have released four albums over the last 20 years and are currently working on a fifth album, tentatively titled-Bergenfield Blues, with their hero and mentor, legendary British singer Terry Reid, www.terryreid.com . The Derelicts have toured the UK extensively with Terry Reid and on their own as well, bringing Cosmic American music to thousands of people on distant shores, and loving every note played and mile traveled. The band consists of founding member George Kapitanelis-bass/songwriter, Eddie Rainey-guitars, mandolin, steel, dobro/vocals, Scott Lauro-guitar/vocals/songwriter and Sotiri Karlis on drums. For our Tribute to Gram/Townes the band will be adding our musical cohorts and part time Derelicts, Danny Pavas-guitar/vocals, Dixie Lee Rainey-vocals and Nick Reeb-fiddle, all three are great musicians who add their vibe and talent to our musical stew from time to time.
