Captain Planet Foundation and Delta Air Lines announce a partnership to bring Project Learning Garden® to New York elementary schools!

Captain Planet Foundation and Delta Air Lines today announce their partnership with a Project Learning Garden contest to bring gardens to elementary schools. The contest will be open to submissions in Seattle/Tacoma (10 schools), Atlanta (2 schools), and New York City (2 schools) where Delta employees will volunteer time to help students install and plant the gardens at all schools selected under this program. PLG Grand Prize Package Includes (valued at $5,000):

-Five raised garden beds or garden expansion (for schools with an existing garden).
-Access to CPF’s online garden-based lessons, spanning content areas and grade levels.
-Materials and supplies to support project-based lessons and garden-based activities.
-Fully equipped Mobile Cooking Cart w/ Vitamix blender to prepare garden-fresh recipes.
-Online professional development and training for teachers.
-Strategy for summer garden maintenance or participation in Project Giving Gardens.
