Harlem Jazz Series - Tony Lewis
| Learn More |
Born and raised in the South Bronx, drummer Tony Lewis is living proof that New York City has always produced musicians who can play anything — and play it brilliantly. A versatile, swinging powerhouse with a fifty-year career spanning jazz, rock, soul, R&B, and hip-hop, he has shared the bandstand with Dizzy Gillespie, B.B. King, Little Richard, Sting, Vernon Reid, Sam Moore, Cyndi Lauper, and Me'Shell N'degeOcello. His jazz journey began at age sixteen, when he won a spot with the McDonald's Jazz Band and appeared on the Merv Griffin Show alongside the legendary Dizzy Gillespie. Tonight, Tony Lewis brings a lifetime of rhythm and soul to the Harlem Jazz Series on August 14, 2026.
