Bar Boulud
1900 Broadway212-595-0303
Acclaimed chef/owner Daniel Boulud's contemporary French bistro focusing on house-made charcuterie, artisinal cheese, and seasonal plats du jour. The wine cellar is dedicated to great wines of the Rhone Valley and Burgandy -- Boulud's favorite wine-making regions -- and those neighboring his native Lyon. The seasonal menu ranges from zesty, saffron-scented "soupe de poisson" to heartwarming "lapin chasseur" laced with mustard and tarragon, with many dishes are inspired by the wine-pairing possibilities. But the real draw is the artisinally made French charcuterie, with a broad selection of terrines and pâtés by award-winning Parisian charcutier Gilles Verot.
