On this epic night of fast-paced comedy, 64 standup comedians go head-to-head in a bracket-style, single-elimination one liner joke tournament. Audience applause determines which performers from Comedy Central, The Daily Show, Seth Meyers, Colbert, MTV and The Tonight Show advance, and who ultimately becomes the 2020 ONE LINER MADNESS CHAMPION. Plus, the first 100 audience members to arrive will get a FREE New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA! The show is at 8 PM on Thursday, March 26 at The Bell House in Brooklyn. Doors (and free beer) begin at 7. Tickets are $12/adv and $15 day of show.One Liner Madness was created by Larry Mancini (ESPN Radio) and Emily Winter (Writer for NPR's "Ask Me Another") of BackFat Variety, and is hosted by Emily Winter with music by Larry Mancini and John Payne. Pratt faculty, staff, and students will host presentations, live demonstrations,and talks about one of a kind research projects tackling pressing issues, from immigration reform to community civic engagement. The third annual Open House will be a part of Pratts Green Week, a weeklong celebration of sustainability initiatives, and will highlight Pratts unique approach to research, featuring nontraditional exhibition and performance based interdisciplinary projects. The Center for Black Literature at Medgar Evers College of the City University of New York (CBL) is holding their 15th National Black Writers Conference (NBWC) held Thursday, March 26, 2020 Sunday, March 29, 2020 at Medgar Evers College in Brooklyn. This years theme is a new focus that boldly affirms and celebrates the ways that Black playwrights and Black screenwriters expand societys understanding of Black life and the human experience in general. The four-day national gathering will serve as a platform for this specific community to explore the challenges, rewards, and impact of working within the Black film and theater industries.The conference will bring together writers, scholars, literary professionals, theater and film giants, students, and other literature enthusiasts far and near.Over the years, NBWC, founded in 1986, has attracted national and international audiences from states such as Georgia, California, Colorado, Florida, and Georgia, to name a few; and from countries in the Caribbean, Europe, and Africa. Its roundtable conversations, panel discussions, and town halls are known for their informative and often spirited content.

Pratt Library presents Read Me Like a Book: 30 Years of Dobbin Books, a retrospective exhibit of acclaimed artist and Pratt Faculty member Robbi Ami Silverberg. The show celebrates the 30th anniversary of Silverbergs artist book studio, Dobbin Books. Over the course of 30 years, Dobbin Books has published over 130 artist books. Silverberg is involved in all stages of production and publishing, realizing coherent works of art.Her work is conceptually focused on word cognition and interlinearity, with an emphasis on process and paper as active substrate. Unique to Dobbin Books is that Silverberg runs one of four hand paper making studios in NYC located at Dobbin Mill. The exhibition will present circa 65 artist books dating from 1992 to 2019, along with threevideos and threeinstallations.
