Abrams appears on over one hundred recordings & scored the music for numerous feature length films including four documentaries by Steve James: The Interrupters, Life Itself, Abacus: Small Enough To Jail, & America To Me. He co-founded the 'back-porch minimalist' band Town & Country, & with Matana Roberts & Chad Taylor, the jazz trio Sticks & Stones.

Once a month, three different artists showcasing three different genres have a chance to spread love, light, and awareness through their music and their stories. This series supports revolutionary artistry and how important music is to healing, in all aspects of life.

It's time for Brooklyn's 5th Annual One Liner Madness joke contest, sponsored by New Belgium Brewing! On this epic night of fast-paced comedy, 64 standup comedians go head-to-head in a bracket-style, single-elimination one liner joke tournament. Audience applause determines which performers from Comedy Central, The Daily Show, Seth Meyers, Colbert, MTV and The Tonight Show advance, and who ultimately becomes the 2020 ONE LINER MADNESS CHAMPION. Plus, the first 100 audience members to arrive will get a FREE New Belgium Voodoo Ranger Juicy Haze IPA! The show is at 8 PM on Thursday, March 26 at The Bell House in Brooklyn. Doors (and free beer) begin at 7. Tickets are $12/adv and $15 day of show.One Liner Madness was created by Larry Mancini (ESPN Radio) and Emily Winter (Writer for NPR's "Ask Me Another") of BackFat Variety, and is hosted by Emily Winter with music by Larry Mancini and John Payne. Tie-breaking judges include actor Omar Capra (Spider-Man, 30 Rock) and past winner of the contest Camille Theobald. One Liner Madness has toured the country and been profiled in The New York Times.

The Processing Series, from vocalist and 2019-2020 Artist-in-Residence Lucy Dhegrae, was sprung from a prompt to four composers: write a piece for voice that deals with an aspect of trauma recovery. This four-part concert series features works by Eve Beglarian, Anglica Negrn, Osnat Netzer, and Katherine Young, written for and performed by Lucy Dhegrae.Lucy has been praised for her "vocal versatility and an omnivorous curiosity" (New York Times). In addition to her work as the founder and director of the Resonant Bodies Festival, an international presenter of boundary-pushing contemporary music vocalists, Lucy is an active advocate for the anti-sexual violence organization RAINN.The third concert in The Processing Series asks: What is the daily at-home experience of a body holding PTSD? Works by Yoko Ono, Pauline Oliveros, Alison Knowles, Pamela Z, Meredith Monk, Kate Soper, and Luciano Berio explore themes of self-care and domesticity. Interludes that draw from self-defense classes, the writings of Audre Lorde, and EMDR therapy weave through the evening, culminating in the world premiere of How to Hold by Katherine Young, which combines several healing modes (EMDR, meditation...
