Believe in Ghost - Prohibition
February 19, 2020 - New York

The boys who make up Believe In Ghost! are strange, goofy, amateurish weirdos. Materializing from NYC, BIG takes the form of a trio of singer-songwriters who have come together from unlikely circumstances to create music that is all at once fun, evocative, and mesmerizing. Their sound is an amalgamation of each other's upbringings meshing soul and funk, folk and pop, hip-hop and punk, and rock n' roll with slapstick sensibilities. But, don't be fooled by the theatrics, Believe In Ghost! is not a show to miss.

The debut single, 'Carried Away' certainly has its own sense of voice, radiating both passion and frustration in a few minutes of total vulnerability. February 21, 2020 - New York

Michael Grubbs performed in bar bands and musical theater productions before launching Wakey!Wakey!, a pop/rock group that put his piano background and vocal skills to good use. Signing with Family Records, his group released several buzzworthy recordings before piquing the curiosity of Mark Schawhn, creator of the long-running TV series One Tree Hill. Luke Wesley - Rockwood Music Hall
February 21, 2020 - New York

Growing up in a large family, Luke Wesley's musical influences were all over the place. Born and raised in the small north central Ohio farm town of Shelby, he spent his time listening to anything from Dion and the Belmonts and The Beatles to Guns N' Roses and The Clash. The variety of influences coming into the household helped shape Luke's pop rock brand. "There was always a cassette tape from a Billboard compilation that I was desperately trying to wear out. That combined with the eclectic tastes of my older brothers made for an interesting cornucopia of music around the house." says Luke.In Elementary school he started learning percussion, but later, in High School, things began to take off musically as Luke started to teach himself piano. Today he has taken those musical influences and the percussive attack on piano to craft a decidedly unique modern brand of blue eyed soul. Luke's smoky, soulful voice drew comparisons on his debut album (Because We Never Talk About It) to the likes of Marc Cohn and Bruce Hornsby.

Jacob Varmus Trio - Jazz ohl - Silvana
February 21, 2020 - New York

Jacob Varmus left his hometown, San Francisco, in 1991 to go to the University of Iowa. Like many before him, he had high hopes of coming of age as a poet while cruising the vast American heartland. He saw language and experience as the tools to probe the deepest layers of the human psyche. In his first year he was admitted to the undergraduate writers' workshop where he studied with Jorie Graham. As he produced poems unremittingly and charted the labyrinthine maze of academic life as an English major, he also played trumpet devotedly, getting a good classical foundation with David Greenhoe. Although not set on a career in music he was nonetheless engrossed in the music of the great jazz trumpeters, Louis Armstrong, Dizzy Gillespie and Miles Davis, to name a few. Chet Baker and Woody Shaw were also early favorites and of special import to his trumpet sound then and now.

The Dirty Old Men-NYC- Blues / Classic Rock / Funk - Silvana
February 21, 2020 - New York

The Dirty Old Men-NYC was formed as the brain child of singer/songwriter, Frank Grimaldi. Together with guitarist, singer and actor, Sandy Moore, the musicians started out as a duo in the fall of 2011. Originally thought to be strictly a blues band, the word "Dirty" was incorporated to convey The DOM's bluesy, soulful and gritty sound, in the tradition of The Rolling Stones. "Old Men" refers to the fact that no one in the band is under 40. Though the joke of the name's double meaning isn't lost on the band members, they each can assure that they do not have a police record or live in a restricted area.
