Jeff Tweedy will lead a diverse lineup of artists paying tribute to the Woody Guthrie classic This Land is Your Land on the 80th anniversary of its writing in New York City at a concert at Town Hall on Feb. 23. This Land is Your Land written about three days after Guthrie arrived in New York City after traveling across America describes what he saw during his travels, from the bounty of resources in the golden valley to the line at the Relief Office, where Woody saw my people. The evening will feature performances by Tweedy, John Fullbright, Gangstagrass and other special guests gathering friends from along that ribbon of highway to join together in the same neighborhood where Woody wrote these important words in 1940.

Israeli artist Boaz Aharonovitchs photo-diary Growing a Garden for an Unknown Lover artfully documents a gardening project that took place in his studio. Incorporating photographic works and a single-channel video art installation, the archived garden is created from flowers, vegetation, and containers Aharonovitch collected from his immediate surroundings. He cultivated his plants, staged them to create the most appealing images and photographed them, hoping the images will attract an unknown lover. The outcome of the process is a meditation on the fleeting nature of the garden as a metaphor for the passage of time and longing. Presented in conjunction with the Friends of Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design, Jersualem, at ZAZ10TS, an ongoing cultural initiative that integrates art into the office building at 10 Times Square.

Frankenstein, is a new musical, with book, music and lyrics by Eric B. Sirota based on Mary Shelley's novel, and directed by Clint Hromsco. It is a two-act sweeping, romantic musical about the human need for love and companionship. It has been running Off-Broadway at St. Luke's Theatre for over 2 years!Published in 1818, Mary Shelleys Frankenstein has celebrated its bicentennial year, and this musical honors its source material. Having lost his mother at a young age, Victor Frankenstein seeks to end human mortality and arrogantly enters territory beyond his control. While he enjoys unconditional love from Elizabeth, Victor grants none to his creation. Frankenstein has been extended into 2019 and continues to play Mondays at 7 PM, Off-Broadway at St. Lukes Theatre in the heart of the theatre district. It is an open run, and tickets through Jan 28, 2020 are on sale now. (There is no performance on Christmas Eve or New Year's Eve, Monday Dec. 31.)
