3 of the Best Upcoming Food and Drink Events in New York

Summer may be over, but fall is a season of indulgence. The upcoming months in New York City are looking extremely appealing, with a number of food and drink events packing out the calendar. Although it wasn't easy, we've managed to pick out three of the best which you should definitely clear your schedule for. Just as a forewarning, we also recommend hiding the scales because by the time Christmas comes round, you may just be a good few pounds heavier. Anyway, without further ado, onto the list.

The Big Chocolate Show

We've started with an easy one. After all, everyone likes chocolate. The event takes place on Friday, September 20th and runs through until Sunday the 22nd, so there are quite a few chances to get yourself some chocolatey goodness. The Big Chocolate Show takes place at the Resorts World Casino, which may seem like a strange choice on paper. However, the venue is perfect for hosting such events due to the luxury it represents, a theme that many online casinos such as Magical Vegas Casino try to emulate with their jewel-encrusted wallpaper and high-end casino feel. With celebrity chefs, chocolate experts offering samples and live demonstrations at the show, it's probably best if you skip dinner and indulge yourself in as many tasting sessions as possible. That's what we're planning to do.

Bronx Night Market

The Bronx Night Market is a huge celebration of the various different cuisines and cultures which have made the local area their home. Set in Fordham Plaza, the event attracted over 80,000 visitors on its debut season—and with over 50 different vendors, the city's diverse food and drink offerings are well represented. The market takes place from 4-10pm every Saturday from August 3rd through October 26th, so there really is no excuse to miss this one. With the Bronx still misrepresented throughout the western world as an area which doesn't have much to offer, the market does an excellent job of destroying the stereotype and is well worth a visit.

The New York Coffee Festival

In terms of finishing on a high, it doesn't get much better than the caffeine-rich New York Coffee Festival. While the local third-wave coffee scene may be extremely vibrant and interesting, the real treat here is tasting different offerings from all around the world. With delicious street food and tasty coffee-based cocktails, those who can't get enough of the black stuff would be absolutely mad to miss this. For the geeks out there, coffee connoisseurs such as Dritan Alsela and Mr. Black also offer workshops for those wanting to have a go at making their own blend. What's not to like?

A Matter of Taste... Literally

New York City is awash with food and drink events in the fall, and which one you attend is likely to be based on your palate. However, that's not to say that you can't have fun at events which don't offer your favorite foods. The various different gatherings and markets are also a great way of making new friends. Let's face it, it beats being stuck in the house. Right? Right.
