Wondering the best places to celebrate the Kentucky Derby in New York City? Lots of Manhattan bars, restaurants, and hotels will be hosting parties, drink and food specials, and other fun festivities. This year you can also add in some Cinco de Mayo celebrating (a day that commemorates the Mexican army’s unlikely victory over the French Empire at the Battle of Puebla), as the Kentucky Derby goes off on Saturday, May 5th.
Woodford Reserve Promotion
Woodford Reserve is hosting a special promotion. Through Derby Day, for every Manhattan bar that features a Woodford Reserve mint julep, Woodford Reserve will donate $1 to the James Beard Foundation. Its mission is to celebrate, nurture, and honor chefs. In addition to some of the bars below, the lineup of venues includes Bill’s Townhouse, The Copper Still, Distilled, Dutch Fred’s, Juniper Bar, The Lost Lady, The Marmara Park Avenue, Petaluma, Red Rooster, Royalton Hotel, Sanfords, and Sons of Essex.

On May 5th, stylush Lower East Side bar Leave Rochelle Out of It will be hosting a celebratory fusion of the Kentucky Derby and Cinco de Mayo. Its Cinco de Derby Day invites revelers to join in the fun. The day’s festivities will include drink and shot specials, and the race will be displayed on the venue’s big screens.
