Telling the Art Deco Story of Brooklyn
Join the Art Deco Society of New York and Brooklyn Public Library (BPL) for a delightful, free talk about the Art Deco history of Brooklyn in one of the borough's most iconic Art Deco buildings, the stunning Central Library. Architectural historian Matt Postal will present an illustrated talk that explores the Art Deco story of Brooklyn and how the style, in the 1930s, expanded beyond Manhattan. In this presentation we will see striking architectural examples that illustrate how the city's newest subway routes transformed the neighborhoods along their paths.
