GrandLo Café will open its doors to the entire community on March 16th. The party serves as a thank you to neighborhood residents for supporting GrandLo Café in its mission over the past year. “I’ve been thrilled to have a bird’s eye view of GrandLo Café’s first year making a difference in the lives of young people,” said GrandLo Café Board of Directors President Sylvia Montero. “The social enterprise mission of the Café literally diverts young people from a risky path to a hopeful future. And, oh, by the way, the GrandLo Café makes great coffee!” Events for the day are as follows: • Counter Culture Coffee Class • Phyt: Self Defense and Fitness Class • Free Arts NYC Class • Curly Hair Symposium • Cardio Sculpt • SUPER GRAND Comedy Show • Sip and Paint • Speed Networking for Teens • Intergenerational Yoga GrandLo Café is a nonprofit social enterprise of Grand St. Settlement that creates career pathways for New York City youth. GrandLo Café provides job development that helps young people gain the skills to break into the workforce. GrandLo Café is a social enterprise of Grand St. Settlement, which expands opportunities for low-income families and individuals by providing culturally relevant services that support community building, advocacy, self-determination, and an enriched quality of life. Events will be held at GrandLo Café throughout the day.
