Joel Viera Quartet
Join bassist Joel Viera for an evening of modern jazz featuring Grammy-nominated pianist and composer Mike Holober, tenor saxophonist Simon Mogul, and drummer Greg Joseph. The quartet will perform a program of music by jazz masters including Wes Montgomery, McCoy Tyner, Cedar Walton, Herbie Hancock, Kenny Garrett, and Miles Davis, blending rich melodies, dynamic improvisation, and creative interplay. Mike Holober is an internationally recognized pianist, composer, arranger, and educator whose work has earned Grammy nominations and collaborations with some of jazz's leading artists. Tenor saxophonist Simon Mogul is an emerging voice on the New York jazz scene whose debut album, Simon Says, showcases a modern approach rooted in the tradition. Drummer Greg Joseph brings more than 25 years of experience performing alongside artists such as Chris Potter, Kevin Hays, and Steve Wilson. Together with bassist Joel Viera, a graduate of The City College of New York's Jazz Studies program, the ensemble offers a fresh perspective on some of the music's most celebrated compositions. Expect an evening of swinging rhythms, adventurous improvisation, and masterful musicianship from four distinctive voices in jazz.
