On Thursday, July 7th from 6-8:30pm, Morris-Jumel will host our annual summer fundraiser commemorating the 1790 Dinner George Washington hosted at the house with a boozy ice cream twist - “A La Mode: Revolutionary Rum & Rye” featuring Hercules Mulligan Rum, Fever-Tree sodas, and a variety of product donations for our raffles, including a years worth of soap from Caswell-Massey - George Washington’s soap of choice! The evening will include: 🍹 Three signature cocktail options from Hercules Mulligan Rum & Rye x Fever-Tree 🍦 DIY, colonial ice cream workshop (with options to add some rum!) 🥁 Specialized guided tours of the interior of the mansion, including our new exhibition, At Ease, which features collection items from the America Revolution. ⚓️ A lecture highlighting both ice cream and rum’s ties to Washington’s political career, the revolution and founding of our nation 🎤 A brief talk from Hercules Mulligan Rum about the tailor-turned-spy who’s intelligence contributed greatly to the continental army’s success during the revolution 🎟 Raffles with fun prizes! 🧀 Some snacks! Please bring a picnic blanket if you are not reserving a table! This event is Adults only (21+) and will have a rain date of 7/14.
