Seminar: The City of Promise: Immigrant Stories, Labor Struggles, and Social Change in New York City, taught by Gessy Alvarez: Reading winners of the New York City Book Awards, this three-session series traces how immigrants shaped New York City through their personal stories, labor organizing, and community activism. We'll explore how newcomers to the city transformed neighborhoods, built worker coalitions, and sparked movements for social change.
