Candlelight Service of Lessons and Carols for Christmas
The Parish of Calvary-St. George’s is delighted to present “Candlelight: A Service of Lessons & Carols for Christmas” on Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 4:00 P.M. A quintessential Christmas tradition for over one hundred years, this celebration holds a special place in the hearts of New Yorkers.
Get into the holiday spirit in the candlelit sanctuary of historic St. George’s Church on Stuyvesant Square (7 Rutherford Pl., New York, NY 10003) Join in singing your favorite carols along with our talented professional choir and orchestra, including a closing rendition of the Hallelujah Chorus from Handel’s Messiah Hear powerful readings that reveal the true meaning of Christmas
This event is free to all. Registration is required in advance. All registrants will receive digital sheet music to the Hallelujah Chorus in case they would like to practice before the service!
This event typically draws hundreds of people from all over New York and beyond. In accordance with state guidelines, proof of vaccination will be required to attend in person. The service will also be streamed online at our website for those who are unable to attend in person.
