Art & Activism: Working Along the Lines of Activism & Artistic Expression

This three-part panel discussion will explore this world of activist art About this Event This three-part series in collaboration with the New York State Bar Association EASL Section's Diversity Committee and Fine Arts Committee will explore the world of activist art from artistic, legal, and social perspectives. Tonight, we begin with Activist Art: An Artist's Perspective. The discussion will consider the level of vulnerability required to make art in pursuit of social change, the personal motivations for such a practice and address the legal concerns for artists contemplating artistic activism. Speakers will include Ming Smith, Adrienne Fields, and Zoe Buckman, Dáreece Walker, and Halima Taha as moderator. Part II on institutional considerations and Part III on digital issues will be held on November 15 and January 15. ___ Entry to this event is not guaranteed with Eventbrite reservation. Please arrive 20-30 minutes before the event start time to reserve your seat. Seating is first-come, first-served. Please cancel your reservation if you are unable to attend. NAC members need not RSVP.
