To celebrate their 50th anniversary, Century 21 Department Store is expanding from their Financial District roots with a second Manhattan location and seventh metropolitan area store, opening on September 22, 2011.

Located at 1972 Broadway, their Lincoln Square outpost will bring Century 21 to the newly appointed epicenter of fashion, culture and art on the Upper West Side. The sleek 61,000-square-foot store features an exclusively edited, high-end designer selection at incredible values.

Century 21 commissioned internationally renowned design firm, Barteluce Architects, to create a modern aesthetic reflective of the brand’s 50 years of iconic fashion history. The contemporary space includes distinctive features such as backlit soffits that speak to the intersection of luxury fashion and every day value that is a corner stone of the Century 21 brand. A sophisticated envelope of grays and neutral tones with punches of bold color at architectural elements, hanging light sculptures and a dynamic façade of color changing light. The layout was designed to enhance the consumer’s shopping experience with wider aisles, more fitting rooms and an abundance of natural light throughout the space. The new store will house 5 floors of the largest selection of brand-name men’s and women’s’ apparel, European collections, accessories, handbags, shoes, lingerie, suits and children’s.

“This move represented a rare opportunity for Century 21 to benefit from a prime retail location that will provide added convenience to many of our existing and potential customers,” said Raymond Gindi, principal of Century 21. “For over 50 years, we’ve been accustomed to our Downtown store being a destination for value-oriented, high-end fashion consumers in Manhattan as well as abroad. We believe 1972 Broadway is already a destination for our current and potential guests and we are very excited to bring our brand to the Upper West Side and to become a part of the Lincoln Square community.”

Store Hours: Monday-Saturday 9am-10pm & Sunday 11am-8pm.

Century 21 Department Store, established in 1961, is legendary for its exceptional offering of pure designer merchandise in every category at 40-65% off retail every day.
