Madame Tussauds Unveils Its 'House of Horrors'
“Chamber Live! Featuring House of Horrors” transports guests to the settings of three iconic horror film series: A Nightmare on Elm Street, The Texas Chainsaw Massacre, and Friday the 13th. The chamber, which appeals to the most basic human senses of anticipation, suspense, and fear, features intricately designed sets and a cast of live actors, who are dressed as the terror masters themselves, Freddy, Leatherface and Jason.
The experience begins with a haunting mirror maze that leads to the door to 1427 Elm Street, where the Chamber officially begins. The first stop in the Chamber is Springwood High School where guests wander through an eerie classroom, a small locker room and finally a dark, damp boiler room where they encounter Freddy Krueger and his knifed glove. The next stop in the Chamber is Leatherface’s bloodstained meat locker that smells of rancid meat. Visitors will be chased out of the meat locker by Leatherface himself and his chainsaw. The final stop in the Chamber is the woods of Crystal Lake, where visitors can smell pine trees and see the many victims of Jason Voorhees. Jason will emerge from the shadows clad in a dirty, deteriorating hockey mask and wield a machete to send guests running out of the Chamber for good.
Madame Tussauds worked closely with New Line Cinema, creator of the three horror film franchises, to craft the multi-sensory environment.
