Marco, Mauro and Mario Maccioni, co-owners with Carlo Mantica, managing member of the acclaimed New York-based restaurant group Le Cirque International (Maccioni Restaurant Group), have announced plans to open Circo Abu Dhabi at the InterContinental Abu Dhabi in early 2014. Circo will be the first Maccioni venture in the Middle East, located in one of the most iconic hotels in the heart of Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
For over seventeen years, Circo has been one of New York’s most adored and successful Tuscan restaurants. Circo offers upscale Italian fare built upon a foundation of signature Tuscan recipes from the kitchen of Maccioni matriarch Mamma Egidiana. The menu is served in a lively, sophisticated setting reminiscent of the old-style European circus tents, which inspired the restaurant's name and ambiance. Famed Le Cirque restaurateur Sirio Maccioni, his wife Egidiana, their sons Mario, Marco, and Mauro, together with an outstanding team of professionals currently oversee three Circo locations: New York midtown, Las Vegas at the Bellagio Hotel, and La Cana by Il Circo at the Casa de Campo Resort in the Dominican Republic.
