Since launching in February 2023, The Travel Agency's dispensaries have become favorite destinations for the canna-curious to seasoned connoisseurs alike. Standout elements include captivating design, the best curated selection of top-quality cannabis products, and the state's most knowledgeable budtenders.
You might know the difference between Indica and Sativa, but do you know what your preferred terpene profile is? Can you tell the difference between a Linalool and a Limonene? The Travel Agency's in-store budtenders are there to help both beginners and experts alike. Forty hours of cannabis classroom training on top of ongoing weekly education is a requirement for the job; the result is a stable of highly attuned budtenders, ready to guide you through your cannabis journey.
Designed by award-winning firm Leong Leong, The Travel Agency Fifth Avenue's roomy, immersive space transports customers to a far-off destination by simply walking through the door. The location is central, in the heart of midtown next door to H&M's flagship and across the street from Sephora. It's accessible via subway stations including Grand Central Terminal (S, 4, 5, 6, and 7 trains) and the 47th-50th Rockefeller Center station (B, D, F, and M trains).
You'll find a broad range of products, including flower, pre-rolls, vaporizers, edibles, concentrates, CBD, topicals, tinctures, accessories, and merch.
Travel Agency founders Arana Hankin-Biggers and Paul Yau have continued their commitment to supporting community and social equity in the cannabis industry through partnering with CAURD licensee Chris T. Concannon, the founder of Terrapin Greens LLC. Concannon, the founder and owner of a successful family business in the financial printing sector, has operated his non-cannabis entity since 1996. His path to cannabis licensure reflects the transformative power of legalization; he was arrested for cannabis possession in his early twenties and later became a serial entrepreneur.
Concannon says, "The Travel Agency Fifth Avenue will be inclusive to all, including New Yorkers who frequent the area, but also to tourists visiting the greatest city on Earth. Whether you're a cannabis enthusiast, or it's your first encounter with the plant, we want our customers to know that they will have a personalized experience that caters to their needs. Being located on the most iconic shopping corridor, we hope to further destigmatize the consumption of cannabis, while communicating to the world that cannabis can be synonymous with luxury.”
High points from the retailer's first year include winning three Clio Cannabis Awards for retail, brand design, and public relations. The dispensary has also hosted multiple celebrity shoppers and guest budtenders, such as acclaimed actress and writer Amy Sedaris. Noted cannabis advocate and comedian Sarah Silverman memorably brought The Daily Show to film a segment at the store during her hosting stint.
The Travel Agency is a BIPOC founded company that believes legal cannabis has the power to repair the damage caused by the war on drugs, and carries an assortment of cannabis products on its shelves, including LGBTQIA+, BIPOC and women-owned brands.
