Prix fixe is French for "fixed price," and New York has some amazing underrated options for getting a great deal on a great mal. Multiple courses for one price also takes the hassle out of a meal. You can sit back, relax, and let the good come to youround after round. These six New York City establishments offer undersung prix fixe meals that are sure to please.

Best of NYC Prix Fixe: Grotta Azzurra (Little Italy)

Nestled in Little Italy, Grotto Azzurra serves filling and scrumptious authentic Italian cuisine. They have a whole menu of items worth trying, and in addition to that, they offer a prix fixe lunch and dinner. For under $20 (or under $10 on weekday afternoons!), you can enjoy two courses. Best of NYC Prix Fixe: Galata Mediterranean Cuisine (Midtown East)

With a modern selection of the most-loved Turkish and Mediterranean dishes, Galata is a great destination for both hospitality and authenticity. You'll find s terrific prix fixe option for lunch: weekdays from 11am to 4pm, just $12.95 covers two courses. Start with soup, salad, or an appetizer like fresh shepherd salad, eggplant salad, baba, or hummus, and follow with a great range of lunch entrees. A visit to a hot pot restaurant is more fun when you've gotten to sample all the fixings you can get. Ding Chinese Restaurant offers a lunch special where you can get yourself a spicy dried pot with your choice of meat and three add-ons for one fixed price on weekday afternoons. At Brazil Brazil, the prix fixe lunch is offered Sunday through Thursday until 4pm, and for $24.95, you get to choose an appetizer, an entrée, and a dessert. You can get the prix fixe dinner any night of the week for about $10 more. At Pascalou, you can find a prix fixe meal for brunch, lunch, and dinner. Start your day with an omelet with grueyere and mushroom, scrambled eggs with smoked salmon and dill, or a croquet monsieur (among many other options) with your drink of choice and the dessert du jour. Take your pick of a salad, melon and mango, or steamed shrimp dumplings before your duck leg confit lunch. If you’ve got a bit of a higher budget to set aside for a decadent prix fixe meal, Perry St will make it worth your while. For $88, treat yourself to a five-course meal from starters to dessert, each portion more decadent and mouth-watering than the last.
