Minhwa: Korean Folk Paintings in New York

Part of life for the people of Korea, Minhwa are color paintings popular during the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1897). The word Minwha literally means 'painting of the people.' Supported by Gyeongsangbuk-do Province and Keimyung University in South Korea, the Traditional Korean Minwha Center exhibits over 40 colorful Minhwa artworks in their first exhibition in New York.
