Eddie Barbash Album Release Concert at The McKittrick Hotel
The McKittrick Hotel (home of ‘Sleep No More’) presents Eddie Barbash, appearing live Sunday 8/8 on Gallow Green. Tickets are required for entry and a full bar and dinner menu are available to enjoy with the performance. Doors open at 5pm.
Join alto saxophonist Eddie Barbash at The McKittrick to celebrate his debut studio album, “For Murray and Lillian,” a tribute to his grandparents. Eddie follows his star turn on the Oscar-winning soundtrack for the animated feature, “Soul,” with the album’s release on August 10th.
The 8 songs on “For Murray and Lillian” encompass a wide range of musical genius, from Puccini to Porter to Ponce, but they have one timeless feature in common: an unabashed emphasis on melody. These are tunes that evoke the classic crooners of the Greatest Generation, transformed by the richness and versatility of Eddie’s unique, unmistakable sound.
Eddie Barbash is a founding member of Jon Batiste Stay Human, the house band for “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” and new band, Cory Wong and The Wongnotes. He plays American roots styles on alto sax, and has performed with stars in almost every genre: jazz with Wynton Marsalis, classical with Yo-Yo Ma, rock with Lenny Kravitz, country with Vince Gill, and funk with Parliament.
