Live at the Gantries: AJOYO
Experience Live at the Gantries—a free outdoor concert series at Gantry Plaza State Park in LIC. Celebrate the rich cultures of Queens with top local talent and stunning sunsets over the East River. Concerts take place on Tuesdays at 7 PM. It’s free—just show up! Bring a chair, picnic, friends—even your dancing shoes—and enjoy a summer of live music in the park!
AJOYO is an award-winning collective founded by composer and multi-reed player Yacine Boularès and co-led with Sarah Elizabeth Charles and Jesse Fischer. Blending North and West African traditions with jazz and soul, the band creates a vibrant, groove-driven sound shaped by virtuosic improvisation and socially conscious compositions. AJOYO has performed at renowned venues and festivals worldwide including Ronnie Scott’s Jazz Club, Blue Note New York, and Jazz à Vienne.
