Live at the Gantries: Ivan Llanes
Experience Live at the Gantries—a free outdoor concert series at Gantry Plaza State Park in LIC. Celebrate the rich cultures of Queens with top local talent and stunning sunsets over the East River. Concerts take place on Tuesdays at 7 PM. It’s free—just show up! Bring a chair, picnic, friends—even your dancing shoes—and enjoy a summer of live music in the park!
Cuban-American percussionist, vocalist, and composer Ivan Llanes blends Afro-Cuban traditions with jazz, Brazilian rhythms, soul, and contemporary influences into a vibrant, genre-crossing sound. Based in NYC, he is known as a dynamic performer and bandleader. His debut album La Vida Misma earned a Cubadisco Award nomination, and he has collaborated with acclaimed artists including Arturo O’Farrill, Carlos Vives, and Matthew Whitaker. His music reflects joy, cultural connection, and Cuban soul.
