This February in New York features a very tasty way of staying warm: cups of hot chocolate at City Bakery’s annual Hot Chocolate Festival. The festival, now in its 24th year, features a rotation of daily special flavors of the Union Square bakery’s decadently rich hot chocolate. To make it an even sweeter treat, add in one of City Bakery’s massive marshmallows, which are made in-house.

Flavors to look forward for 2016's festival include Lemon Dark Chocolate (February 11), S’mores (February 24), Salted Caramel (February 20), Espresso (February 23), and Bourbon (February 26). Available February 27 will be a new flavor, Mount Fiji hot chocolate, which is made with yuzu and lime. On February 17, a percentage of proceeds from the Polar Bear (white chocolate) hot chocolate will benefit the National Resources Defense Council. And for those who’d prefer something less extravagant, City Bakery’s regular hot chocolate is still available each day as well.
As part of the festival, the bakery will also stay open late on select nights and feature live music on weekends. Ending the festival will be a special “Leap Day Festival Finale” on the 29th. You can find a complete Hot Chocolate Festival schedule here.
