As one of the most dominant forces in the comedy circuit, Godfrey has been seen on stages from New York and Los Angeles to Dubai. Along with his own one-hour special on Comedy Central, Godfrey recently starred in the FX pilot "Bronx Warrants," adding to his onscreen credits which include ZOOLANDER, "30 Rock," and a recurring role on "Louie." Godfrey - Levity Live

GODFREY is one of the hottest comedians on the circuit. Growing up in Chicago, he constantly got in trouble for misbehaving and being an all-around class clown. As one of the most dominant forces in the comedy circuit, Godfrey has been seen on stages from New York and Los Angeles to Dubai. Along with his own one-hour special on Comedy Central, Godfrey recently starred in the FX pilot "Bronx Warrants," adding to his onscreen credits which include ZOOLANDER, "30 Rock," and a recurring role on "Louie." A Midsummer Night's Dream - Sheen Center for Thought & Culture
Through February 25, 2018 - New York

"Frog & Peach is a jewel of Off-Broadway. You can't find a more exhilarating evening than to join this troupe for a romp in the woods!" – Ronald Gross, NYTB Guide The renowned Frog & Peach Theatre Company follows up their record breaking Sheen Center debut of 2017's Macbeth with A Midsummer Night's Dream, Shakespeare's rollicking romp of romance, wizardry, and show biz. A Midsummer Night's Dream transports audiences to the palaces of Athens, and the dark, bewitching forests surrounding the kingdom, where the fairy King Oberon (Erick Gonzalez, star of 2017's hit Macbeth) and his Queen Titania (Amy Frances Quint) are waging a deliciously romantic war. With help from the devilish Puck (Marcus Watson) Oberon casts a spell over his estranged lover, as well as the lovers Hermia (Alyssa Diamond), Helena (Bess Miller), Lysander (Edan Jacob Levy) and Demetrius (Kyle Primack). Meanwhile, as the Mechanicals rehearse their tragically hilarious Pyramus & Thisby, Puck cannot resist transforming the hapless Bottom (Kevin Hauver) into a donkey. Will witchcraft spell disaster, or save the day? With themes of sexual politics, climate change, and celebrity, A Midsummer Night's Dream is a st... (read more)

A Case for Magic, A Comedy Magic Show at the Frigid Fringe Festival - The Kraine Theater
Through March 02, 2018 - New York

Award winning magician, Robert Malissa, puts the art of the trick on trial. He will lie, cheat, and smile as he presents sleight of hand, mentalism, and sneaky swindles, all while making a case of the craft of deception. A fair and balanced examination of the art, for lovers of magic and their ambivalent friends. Native Philadelphian, Robert Malissa, was setting up for his street show a few years back when a passerby said, "Hey a magician, the lowest form of entertainment!" That statement was the inspiration for his show, "A Case for Magic", at the upcoming NYC Frigid Fringe Festival. The show takes direct aim at the view of magic as a tacky art, or that tricks are only for kids. Sometimes comic, sometimes poetic, Malissa's original presentations of sleight of hand, mentalism, and general sneaky stuff, support his point of view. It has been said, "There are many rooms in the house of magic." Acting as your congenial tour guide, Malissa shows you his favorite places. Rob Malissa started magic at age 12 and has performed for many years. His early start was the birthday circuit, then street magic in Philadelphia, and Europe after college. Along the way, he garnered a first pl... (read more)

Black Light - The Public Theater
Through March 25, 2018 - New York

Daniel Alexander Jones returns to Joe's Pub as Jomama Jones, his critically-acclaimed alter-ego, in BLACK LIGHT. Commissioned as part of Joe's Pub's NEW YORK VOICES program, BLACK LIGHT is a musical revival for a turbulent time. Jomama leads an intimate journey – through the darkness of personal and political upheaval, and the shards of shattered illusions – illuminated by spontaneous humor and what The New Yorker calls her "very particular radiance." Set to pop, soul, rock and disco, this immersive performance piece removes the barrier between artist and audience through inquiry, story and song.

Kings - The Public Theater
Through March 25, 2018 - New York

Playwright Sarah Burgess (Dry Powder) and Tony-winning director Thomas Kail (Hamilton, Tiny Beautiful Things, Dry Powder) team up again for KINGS, a hilariously blistering new play about money, politics and the state of the American republic. Kate is a whip-smart lobbyist who doesn't waste her time on anyone who can't get elected, stay elected and help her clients get what they want. Kate thinks Representative Sydney Millsap is a political neophyte whose staunch ideals are going to cost her a burgeoning political career. But Representative Millsap and her high-minded principles turn out to be more resilient than Washington was expecting, and for the first time Kate is faced with a choice that might change everything for her: back the system, or back what she believes in? KINGS is a scathingly funny new play about the people at the heart of our democracy.

The Low Road - The Public Theater
Through April 01, 2018 - New York

From Tony and Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright Bruce Norris (Clybourne Park, The Pain and the Itch) comes an epic play, featuring sixteen actors in fifty roles, examining the basic beliefs upon which we've built our economy and our country. Set in the 18th century, this wild new work imagines America's first laissez-faire capitalist, a young man inspired by a chance encounter with Adam Smith to put his faith in the free market. But his path to riches becomes inextricably entangled with that of an educated slave, a man who knows from experience that one person's profit is another's loss, in this parable about the true cost of inequality. Four-time Tony nominee and three-time Obie winner Michael Greif (Dear Evan Hansen, Next to Normal, Dogeaters) directs this richly imaginative, riotously funny new play about the imaginary lines between exploitation and opportunity.
