Known for his roles on Tim & Eric Awesome Show Great Job!, and extensive tours throughout the US, Canada and Australia, David Liebe Hart is an outsider musician, actor and painter. A true original, he has communicated with extra-terrestrials, owns a large collection of puppets, and is obsessed with trains. Matthew Silver Artist Statement: My role as a clown, trickster and village idiot is to parody excessive seriousness by playing with taboos, rules, and social norms. Dermot Kennedy - Music Hall of Williamsburg
September 17, 2017 - Brooklyn

Life and death. Joy and pain. Love and loss. Dermot Kennedy has always been fascinated by extremes. On his brilliant debut EP, 'Doves & Ravens,' the young Dubliner draws inspiration from all the moments of brightness and darkness this world has to offer, crafting music that's at once soaring and intimate, stripped-back and explosive. Stuttery hip-hop and R&B-influenced percussion underpins his weathered vocals as he combines organic and electronic elements into an arresting, emotional blend that calls to mind the adventurous arrangements of Bon Iver, James Blake, and James Vincent McMorrow. Rich beyond just its production, the EP showcases Kennedy as a writer in possession of a sophistication well beyond his 25 years. He pens lyrics with a poet's eye and a rapper's precision, conjuring vivid imagery and transfixing audiences with the unique rhythm and flow of his soulful delivery. "I think reading poetry and listening to hip hop offer a lot of the same rewards," reflects Kennedy. "The good rappers are so honest, and in my opinion they deserve to be viewed as poets. Regardless of the form, though, I just feed off of anyone who's expressing themselves and sharing their feelings... (read more)

The Cribs - Music Hall of Williamsburg
September 21, 2017 - Brooklyn

The Cribs and High Road Touring are happy to announce that the cult UK band will be touring throughout the USA and Canada this fall, including an appearance at Chicago's Riot Fest. Known for their fiercely DIY approach to recording and touring at a time when indie music in the UK was going through a huge commercial boom, The Cribs always stood out from their contemporaries as an altogether more uncompromising prospect. Releasing their first two LP's 'The Cribs' (2004), and 'The New Fellas' (2005) on UK independent label Wichita Recordings, the band quickly built a loyal and devoted fan-base which lead to Q Magazine describing them as "The biggest cult band in the UK". After the breakthrough success of their third LP "Men's Needs, Women's Needs, Whatever" (Warner Bros., 2007), The Cribs were joined by legendary Smiths guitarist Johnny Marr as a full-time member of the group for their fourth full-length "Ignore The Ignorant" (Warner Bros, 2009). Following Marr's departure in 2011, The Cribs returned with their critical high-point "In The Belly Of The Brazen Bull" in 2012, and then their latest album "For All My Sisters", produced by Ric Ocasek (Weezer, Bad Brains) which was rel... Cap'n Jazz - Brooklyn Steel
September 23, 2017 - New York

Short-lived but highly influential, Cap'n Jazz helped transform genres from a deeply underground punk subgenre into a more widely accepted subset of indie rock. Cap'n Jazz's main contribution was stylistic — they helped shift emo's always-elusive musical focus from post-hardcore prog-punk to an arty but more accessible punk-pop. Their discography was as scant as it was rare, but that very obscurity helped build their underground legend through word of mouth, until a double-CD retrospective was finally issued several years after their breakup. By that time, most of the members had moved on to other, better-known bands, most notably Joan of Arc, American Football Owen and the Promise Ring, which helped spread Cap'n Jazz's influence far beyond their original audience. The first incarnation of Cap'n Jazz was formed in Chicago circa 1989, when brothers Tim (guitar, vocals) and Mike Kinsella (drums) teamed up with bassist Sam Zurick and guitarist Victor Villareal; all were still in school at the time. The band went through several name changes and added guitarist Davey von Bohlen, but took a few years to get serious about pursuing music. Eventually, they earned a cult following around C... Drab Majesty - Sunnyvale
September 23, 2017 - New York

Drab Majesty is an inter-dimensional platform aimed at channeling aural and visual messages founded by a human being from Los Angeles in 2013. The human communes directly with it's spiritual muse/assumed alter-ego Deb Demure to demonstrate the power in relinquishing ownership to a divine design, thereby handing inspiration over to the spirit world - essentially serving as a contractor in business with the Collective Consciousness. Relying on those principles, Drab Majesty, from its inception, set out to achieve no specific style, yet over the span of a European tour, several US tours, an LP entitled "Careless" (released and reissued 3 times on DAIS Records), 2 cassette EP's, and a 7-inch on (Weyrd Son/Brussels), Deb has honed in on a pointed aesthetic. No Joy are a Canadian shoegaze band, formed in late 2009 by Jasamine White-Gluz and Laura Lloyd. White-Gluz was living in Los Angeles while Lloyd was living in Montreal. They began collaborating via email, which eventually led to White-Gluz's return to Montreal and their first show (with Grant Hart of Hüsker Dü) on December 15, 2009. The band continued to play locally, including a show with then-up-and-coming indie band Best Coast... (read more)
