Hold on to your life jackets and Dramamine, theatregoers, and look to Broadway’s not-too-distant horizon where coming into hazy view is a musical comedy that’s a tsunami of cinematic satire overflowing with Tony, Drama Desk, and Emmy-honored dudes and divas. The show is Disaster!, an unhinged smorgasbord of ‘70s cult film catastrophes.

The Poseidon Adventure, Earthquake, The Swarm, and oh, so many others are ingeniously served up by a sublime collection of celebrated Broadway actors: Tony winners Roger Bart (You’re A Good Man, Charlie Brown) and Faith Prince (Guys & Dolls); Tony nominees Kerry Butler (Xanadu), Kevin Chamberlin (Seussical, Dirty Blonde, The Addams Family) and Adam Pascal (Rent); Drama Desk Award winner Rachel York (Victor/Victoria); Drama Desk nominee Jennifer Simard (The 25th Annual Putnam County Spelling Bee); Emmy Award nominee Seth Rudetsky (SiriusXM’s “Seth’s Big Fat Broadway”), Grease alum Max Crumm, and Lacretta Nicole.

To the show’s myriad guilty pleasures you can add a post-dated pop score made up of songs that pounded the airwaves and dance floors during the ‘70s, including "Knock On Wood,” “Signed, Sealed, Delivered,” "I Am Woman,” “Hot Stuff,” and “Daybreak."

And even though you’ll have to wait until February for previewskickoff is February 9th, 2016, with an official opening date of March 8you can book seats well in advance: tickets go on sale exclusively for Citi Card Members on 11/9 (citiprivatepass.com); members of Audience Rewards (Broadway’s official rewards program) can order tickets starting 11/16 (AudienceRewards.com); while the general public can place their orders beginning 11/20 (ticketmaster.com; 877-250-2929).

Disaster! the musical will be staged at the Nederlander Theatre, at 208 W. 41st St. DisasterMusical.com.
